sky b is all set to launch their latest music based serial bishoy gaan. sugata singha, the director of the serial, said: " we are looking at music as a medium of addressing immediate aspects of life."
the programme to be anchored by madhu mukherjee, eminent music director of the city, will be screened from february 24 (every sunday at 10:30 pm).
madhu mukherjee, the anchor of the serial, said, "any work of art has a central theme." the focus of the serial is on the lyrical aspect of music. the genesis of a song is what constitutes the fundamental portion of the programme.
hence the 24 episode serial will have eminent artistes from various age groups, like jatileshwar mukhopadhyaya to nachiketa and anjan dutta.
they will voice their opinions as well as present recitals. topics of each episode will be different ranging from women, nostalgia, friend, product, kolkata, or childhood — only to name a few.
does this appear too ‘cerebral’? well, nachiketa thinks so. he said, "people who create a hullabaloo with mega serials or have no interest in knowing the genesis of a song should not see this serial. they won’t like it." is the producer keeping his fingers crossed?
